The navigation database in FS2020 is very basic. This does not happen in P3D or X Plane 11. On my system the aircraft jerk left and right on takeoff and landing and even while taxiing. I have gotten used to the glass cockpits and the flight modeling is OK but could be a lot better. In Colorado the cities are brown, some areas are green, some are yellow and it just doesn't look good in my opinion.

I have never seen yellow ground textures before in a flight simulator until FS2020. In most areas the ground scenery is fantastic. Hopefully Asobo will make an adjustment to shrink the trees down to normal size. I get fantastic frame rates and there are buildings and trees all over the place, albeit it too large for real life. Initially I was blown away when I first launched this simulator. Some may not like the computer generated voice but I can live with that. This program provided great ATC in all three flight simulators. The Active Sky P3D weather in P3D also extends out to the horizon.ĪTC is an issue in all three flight simulators but the solution I have adopted was to purchase Pilot2ATC. The clouds in SkyMaxx Pro look very good, better than Active Sky XP in my opinion. Something SkyMaxx Pro and Active Sky XP do not do, or at least not do well. It not only does very nice clouds, but the weather generation makes it appear that the clouds extend out to the horizon. My current solution is using 圎nviro, a weather engine, that provides seasonal textures (Autumn and Winter) on all scenery. Hence my calling the scenery in X Plane 11 a mess if one wants seasonal textures. Again you can't get Winter on those airports either. And finally the people who contribute airports to the scenery gateway for inclusion into X Plane 11 have started to put their own photo scenery into those airports.

And no plugin or scenery mod will create seasonal textures for those airports. Then you have addon airports that have their own photo scenery and don't provide Winter textures. OK the winterizer plugin came along that created Winter textures for the Ortho scenery. TerraMaxx came out and that provided a good solution for the default ground textures. Initially when I purchased X Plane 11 two years ago I wanted seasons. Some people may disagree so I will explain. Personally I want snow on the ground in Winter and that is impossible under all circumstances. So if you want to fly with green scenery all year round and that doesn't bother you, then I guess X Plane 11 is OK. The scenery in X Plane 11 is a nightmare if you want to have seasons since X Plane 11 neglected to support seasons throughout it's development. X Plane 11 has great flight modeling and I really enjoy flying the aircraft I have in that simulator. But overall I have fewer issues in P3D as compared to X Plane 11. The aircraft modeling is very good but the modeling is X Plane 11 is better. Active Sky P3D is used for weather and is excellent. Aside from some airport elevation issues in P3D it is my go to flight simulator for the following reasons. I have three flight simulators, P3D V4.5 and v5, X Plane 11 and FS2020. So, at this point I'll continue using X-Plane 11 for Jet Airliners and MSFS 2020 for GA flying.

I still see MSFS 2020 needing another 6 to 12 months to mature (The 2nd update patch was 16GB addressing issues raised by the flight sim community).

X-Plane 11 is still leaps and bounds ahead when it comes to flying jet airliners - specifically because we have the 3rd party pay aircraft (e.g Toliss A319) and the excellent free Zibo 737-800 mod. However, Bing Maps needs a major update! Some of the maps are out of date 5 or more years. MSFS 2020 is quite good for GA flying because of the great visuals, and the airports / cities with photogrammetry textures look very nice (e.g New York, Zurich). Thankfully a free A320 addon is being worked on by the Flight Sim Community to make it more realistic. You would be better saving your money to buy a 3rd party study level aircraft when they come out - eg PMDG 737-800. The Jet Airliners are certainly not study level aircraft ( so many buttons inoperable). The hand built airports are not that great and the Jet Airliners are not worth paying additional money for at this point. I have the Premium Deluxe version and advise anyone wanting to get the Sim to get the Regular version only. Microsoft Scenery Simulator was released still in a Beta phase.
